Recipe of the Week 🍲

This simple recipe, infused with rosemary and garlic, delivers rich flavors, allowing you to effortlessly enjoy an astonishingly healthy snack at home.

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste

  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar or lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

  • Red pepper flakes

 📝 Instructions:

  1. Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves. Cut the Brussels sprouts in half lengthwise for even cooking. If the sprouts are particularly large, you can quarter them.

  2. In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and black pepper. Make sure they are evenly coated with the oil and seasonings. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes. This ensures even cooking and helps the Brussels sprouts get crispy.

  3. Place the seasoned Brussels sprouts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to cook them in batches if your air fryer is small. Cook the Brussels sprouts at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning. They are done when they are crispy on the outside and tender inside. For extra crispiness, you can cook them for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  4. After the Brussels sprouts are done, transfer them to a bowl. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar or lemon juice, and toss to coat. If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes for added flavor. Serve immediately as a side dish.

Meal Prep Tips ⏱️

  • For a sweet and savory twist, drizzle the cooked Brussels sprouts with a bit of honey or maple syrup.

  • You can add other seasonings like onion powder, cumin, or nutritional yeast for different flavor profiles.

  • If you want to add more texture, toss in some toasted nuts or dried cranberries before serving.
